Bonoan: We're trying to clean up ranks of DPWH
By GMA NewsPublic Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan said he has talked with officials of his department to improve the image if the agency.
In the latest episode of The Mangahas Interviews, Bonoan was asked about the perception that the DPWH was among the agencies which have a problem with corruption.

“This is my first order of the day actually. Nagkausap kami because I know there is this continued perception. May corruption etc.," Bonoan told journalist Malou Mangahas.
"So kinausap ko na especially yung mga nasa undersecretaries, assistant secretaries or in charge in operations and lahat,” he added.
On the alleged favored and corrupt contractors, Bonoan said projects must be completed in accordance to its specifications adding that there must be “no shortcuts.”
“We are just trying to clean up the ranks of our department and this time we want it to do a professional job sa lahat ng gagawin namin," Bonoan said.
"When I say a professional job is actually from the start of the project until the completion it has to be done in accordance with 'yung specifications, walang shortcut na magagawa,” he added.
“As much as possible transparent tayo sa lahat ng ating gagawin ngayon dito sa ating department, yan ang bilin ko,” Bonoan said.
Bonoan said all service, bureau, project, and regional directors, as well as district engineers to must strictly adhere to laws, in view of the department's thrust to implement infrastructure projects that mitigate disaster risk. —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
