Binay named Senate ethics committee chairperson

Senator Nancy Binay will lead the committee tasked with handling matters related to the rights, privileges, safety, dignity, integrity, and reputation of the Senate and its members. 

At Wednesday’s session, senators installed Binay as the chairperson of the Senate ethics and privileges committee. 

According to the Senate website, Binay will be joined by Senators JV Ejercito, Mark Villar, and Risa Hontiveros. 

Senate President Pro-Tempore Loren Legarda, Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, and Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III will also join the panel as ex-officio members. 

With Binay’s election, the Senate has completed its roster of chairpersons for its 41 committees in the 19th Congress. —VBL, GMA News
