By GMA News

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has urged residents in areas affected by Tropical Storm Paeng to take the necessary precautions against the weather disturbance.

Marcos in particular mentioned those who went to the provinces ahead of the long weekend in observance of Undas 2022.

"#PaengPH may reach severe tropical storm category, resulting in heavy rains in parts of Luzon and Visayas tomorrow," Marcos said on Twitter.

"All those in the affected areas are advised to take precautions, particularly those who plan to travel this long weekend," he added.

Marcos had earlier declared Oct. 31, Monday, a special non-working day. All Saints' Day on Nov. 1 is on Tuesday.

Marcos said government agencies were on standby for rescue operations.
