The Philippine National Police (PNP) will maintain its full alert status until November 4 for the mandatory face-to-face classes on November 2, its spokesperson, Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, said Tuesday.

At present, the PNP is on full alert status to secure the long holiday weekend during the observation of the All Saints' Day.

“Yung ating full alert status ay mananatili hanggang November 4 in anticipation nga nitong simula ng face-to-face classes,” Fajardo said at a televised public briefing.

Fajardo said the deployment of police personnel would be concentrated in Metro Manila areas. Regional police directors, meanwhile, are given full discretion to extend the heightened alert status.

Fajardo said regional directors should ensure police assistance desks are available to help students, parents, and teachers.

Under the Department of Education Order (DO) No. 44, the full implementation of in-person classes will start in public schools starting November 2.

Private schools, on the other hand, have been given the option to continue holding blended learning modality for the rest of the school year.

The current academic year has implemented combined in-person classes and distance learning starting August 22.
