Ex-President Duterte says he had himself checked after weight loss, tremors

Former President Rodrigo Duterte said he had a medical check-up after experiencing weight loss and tremors, JP Soriano reported on "24 Oras."

"At first they thought it was Parkinson's, but my extremities are alright," he said during a reunion-concert with former members of his Cabinet and several incumbent officials in Makati City on Wednesday night.

Duterte said doctors found he has "trauma" which could be related to several motorcycle accidents, including one which happened only last month.

“Sa brainwaves and they found out I have, marami akong trauma,” Duterte said.

“I have two accidents. On one, nawala ang brake,” he added.

The 77-year-old former leader enjoys riding motorcycles, which he started doing since he was young. 

He said it was also one of the first things he did after he finished his term in June this year.

Duterte at the gathering thanked officials and friends who stood by him during his presidency.

“There’s a time to start and a time to retire. God is really very kind to me,” he said.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA News
