Comelec Commissioner Celis gets CA panel’s nod

A Commission on Appointments committee on Wednesday endorsed the confirmation of the ad interim appointment of Nelson Java Celis as commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Celis will continue the unexpired portion of former Comelec Commissioner Aimee Torrefrana-Neri. He will sit as Comelec commissioner until February 2,2029.

Celis was among the officials whose appointments were bypassed by the CA
