By GMA Integrated News

Ninety-two percent of Filipinos are facing 2023 "with hope", Pulse Asia's November 2022 Survey on the Holiday Season and the Year Ahead showed.

According to the findings of the survey conducted from November 27 to December 1, 92% of adult Filipinos will face the year ahead with hope.

Eight percent are ambivalent and could not say if they were facing 2023 with hope or without.

Less than one percent said they were doing so without hope.

"Ambivalence on the matter is expressed by 8% of adults while less than 1 % say they will face the coming new year without hope," Pulse Asia said.

The same survey found that 43% of Filipino adults will have "a more prosperous holiday celebration this year," it added.

Forty-two percent expect their celebration will be no different from the one they had last year, which they described as prosperous.

Ten percent expect their celebration to be the same as last year, which they described as not prosperous.

Six percent said they were poorer than last year.

"The rest of Filipino adults will either have a family holiday celebration that is just as poor as what they had last year (10%) or one that is poorer than their festivities a year ago (6%)," Pulse Asia said.

The nationwide survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents, representing adults 18 years old and above.

It has a plus or minus 2.8% error margin at the 95% confidence level. Subnational estimates of error margins at 95% confidence level are plus or minus 5.7% for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. —NB/KG, GMA Integrated News
