PH's new COVID-19 cases dip to 116, active tally at 10,228

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday logged 116 new COVID-19 infections, while the active tally went down to 10,228.

This was the second day of fewer than 200 reported cases.

According to the DOH’s latest figures, the active infections dropped to 10,228 from 10,419 on Monday.

The country’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 4,072,188.

Among the regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,099, followed by Calabarzon with 559, Western Visayas with 276, Central Luzon with 265, and Cagayan Valley with 242.

The recovery tally rose to 3,996,234 while the death toll increased to 65,726 with 10 new fatalities.

At least 10,077 individuals were tested, while 331 testing laboratories submitted data as of Tuesday, January 23.

The bed occupancy in the country stood at 18.2% with at least 4,893 beds occupied and 21,978 were vacant as of Sunday, January 22.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
