Petition for P100 wage hike in NCR under review — DOLE

The petition seeking to increase the daily minimum wage of private sector employees in the National Capital Region by P100 is currently under review, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said on Saturday.

In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, Laguesma said the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board continues to hold consultations with regard to the petition filed by labor groups last December.

The DOLE chief said the government would consider both the situation of the workers and the employers before deciding on the matter.

The petition cited soaring inflation in asking for a daily minimum wage hike.

"Dapat po siguro maunawaan po natin na hindi lamang po isang factor ang tinitignan binabalanse po mahirap po yung pagbabalanse na ginagawa," Laguesma said.
