2 suspected drug lords in Taiwan nabbed in separate ops in Makati

By GMA Integrated News

The authorities have arrested three foreigners suspected of being involved in the trade and manufacture of illegal drugs in separate operations in Makati City.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras," two of those arrested were identified as Wu Jheng Lhong and Chen Chien Ning. They are suspected to be drug lords in Taiwan.

The third suspect who was arrested is Zong Bao. He had no record of entering the country and is suspected to be the person in charge of manufacturing illegal drugs for the syndicate.

Wu was arrested at a parking lot in Makati in an operation that included a member of the Taiwan police, the Bureau of Immigration's Fugitive Search Unit, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

BI-FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy said Wu had been arrested previously but was found to have been released after being turned over to a province where he had a local case.

Five expensive guns, magazines, and ammunition were found inside his room.

Sy said Chen is reportedly a leader of a syndicate involved in drugs, kidnapping, and telecommunications fraud both in the Philippines and in Taiwan.

Zong was nabbed at another exclusive subdivision.

GMA Integrated news team is still trying to seek comments from the arrested individuals, who are now detained at the BI- Detention Facility in Bicutan and are scheduled to be deported. —NB, GMA Integrated News
