Police raid two more properties allegedly owned by Teves’ relatives

Authorities on Friday raided two more properties allegedly owned by Negros Oriental third district Representative Arnolfo Teves’ relatives.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, the search inside a Tevez home in Bayawan town almost took a whole day.

Weapons were taken out of the house around 4 p.m. Some of the weapons were long firearms that were wrapped in plastic.

Aside from the compound in Bayawan, the authorities raided two other properties in a neighboring town, both of which are said to be owned by relatives of the Teves family.

Earlier today, authorities started raiding and searching for firearms in Negros Oriental houses belonging to Teves.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), firearms, ammunition, and grenades were seized from one of Teves' homes. A caretaker was also arrested.

The raid on the houses was launched a day after two suspects pointed to a certain “Cong Teves” who allegedly ordered the hit on Governor Roel Degamo, who was killed at his residence in Pamplona town on March 4. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA Integrated News
