Senate OKs bill vs. ‘no permit, no exam’, 16 other bills

The Senate on Monday approved on third and final reading 16 measures,  including Senate Bill 1359 which prohibits the imposition of “no permit, no exam” policy in all public and private educational institutions.

SB 1359 garnered 22 affirmative votes, zero negative votes and zero abstention.

The senators also unanimously voted for the passage of Senate Bill 1841 seeking to strengthen the conservation and protection of national cultural heritage through an enhanced cultural mapping program; Senate Bill 1594 seeking to institutionalize the “One Town, One Product Philippines” program; and Senate Bill 1864 seeking to provide for a moratorium on the payment of student loans during disasters and other emergencies.

The Upper Chamber also approved House Bill 4635 seeking to extend the term of office of the president of the Adiong Memorial State College from three years to four years.
