Topnotcher Dayday thought namesake topped 2022 bar exams

By GMA Integrated News

Czar Matthew Gerard Dayday, Top 1 of the 2022 Bar Examinations, said he initially thought a fellow taker with the same surname had taken the top spot.

In a “24 Oras” report by Ian Cruz, Dayday, who graduated from the University of the Philippines (UP), got a rating of 88.8083%.

“‘Yung Top 1 was Dayday. So una ko pa ring naisip na ‘Oh, meron pa lang ibang Dayday na nag-take ng bar. Tapos na-realize ko na, oh my gosh, that’s my name. That’s me," Daysay said.

"So ayun, after that, wala, nagsigawan, nag-iyakan na kami with my family,” he added.

“It’s really a matter of knowing yourself, knowing what works for you and what doesn’t. And, also, it’s really surrounding yourself with people na tutulungan ka with your goals,” Dayday advised aspiring bar exam takers.

Meanwhile, some takers and their relatives gathered in front of the Supreme Court on Friday as it released the list of passers in the 2022 Bar Examinations.

"Of the 9,821 bar candidates, 9,183 completed the same and of that said number 3,992 have successfully hurdled the 2022 bar examinations by obtaining a total average grade of 75 and above," said Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, the 2022 Bar exam Chair. —NB, GMA Integrated News
