DOTr Sec. Bautista confirms resignation of Usec. Pastor

Department of Transportation Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor has vacated his post, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said Saturday.

“Yes, effective April 21, he [Pastor] filed his irrevocable resignation last month for health reasons,” Bautista said.

Pastor confirmed his departure from post in a statement issued on April 17.

"But as much as I desire to stay, I believe it is high time that I should focus on my family, especially my children, who are fast growing up and have been feeling my absence," he said.

"I would also like to prioritize and improve my health, as I have partly neglected both my physical and mental well-being from dedicating most of my time tending to my work duties and responsibilities," he added.

He said he will be leaving his post "knowing that I have given my best and all, with my head held high."

Pastor had been serving as DOTr undersecretary since January 2021 during President Rodrigo Duterte's administration. —Ted Cordero/KG, GMA Integrated News
