Ex-foreman makes hole in P700-K rob try at gas station

Police nabbed a former construction foreman in Novaliches, Quezon City after attempting to rob a gas station he was previously contracted to renovate.

According to a report by John Consulta on “State of the Nation” on Tuesday, employees caught suspect Fredie Dinopol while trying to enter the shop.

“May narinig silang ingay na nanggagaling sa likod at nang kanyang tingnan ito may nakita siyang lumalabas sa butas sa likod ng opisina,” said Novaliches Police Deputy Station Commander Police Captain Jeff Tuyo.

(They heard a noise coming from the back portion of the store. They checked it and saw a man exiting through a hole in their office.)

Tuyo explained the suspect was previously hired to renovate the office of the gas station. He was arrested before stealing the shop’s profit worth around P700,000 and is now facing robbery charges.

“Employed na sila doon for almost a month and nakikita namin kabisado na nila yung oras nang maglalagay ng pera doon sa safety deposit box,” he added.

(They were employed for almost a month ago and from what we’re seeing, they might have memorized the time the cashiers put the money in the safety deposit box.)

Dinopol said he was under the influence of alcohol when he staged the robbery attempt.

“Hindi ko napigilan sarili ko kasi nakainom po ako kaya nung time na ano hindi ko alam na nagawa ko po,” he added.
