Philippine COVID-19 positivity rate rises to 14.3% –OCTA
The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate increased to 14.3% on Friday, according to the independent monitoring group OCTA Research.
The positivity rate refers to the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested.
Meanwhile, citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David also reported 858 new cases, 525 recoveries, and 5,293 active cases. There were no fatalities.
There were 331 cases in the National Capital Region, 55 in Laguna, and 49 in Cavite.
The OCTA Research Team projected 1,000 to 1,200 new cases on Saturday.
As of Thursday, April 27, NCR’s weekly positivity rate rose to 14.3%, compared to the 9% recorded on April 20.
Deaths and hospitalizations in the NCR remained low at 22%.
