The scheduled airspace shutdown on May 17 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will be reduced to two hours, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

According to the report on "State of the Nation" on Friday, the shutdown will start at 2 a.m. and last until 4 a.m.

The airspace shutdown will be implemented to give way to corrective maintenance activity at the Air Traffic Management Center.
