DLSU grad tops chemical engineer licensure exam, 5 pass special exam given in Middle East

A graduate of De La Salle University-Manila scored the highest marks in the May 2023 licensure examination for chemical engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission said.

According to the PRC, 472 out of 801 test takers passed the exam, administered by the Board of Chemical Engineering in Metro Manila, the cities of Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Legazpi, and Rosales town earlier this month.

Christian Jay Pagunuran Balboa of DLSU Manila was the highest scorer with 92.60%, while the top performing school with 10 or more test takers is University of the Philippines-Diliman with 29 out of 30 making the grade for a 96.96% passing rate.

Five out of the 12 test takers who took chemical engineer special professional licensure examinations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE; Al-Khobar and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; and Doha, Qatar in April 2023 also passed.
