1,612 firearms seized in Eleksyon 2025 gun ban so far —PNP


Authorities have seized 1,612 firearms under the election gun ban, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday.

In an update, PNP said most firearms were confiscated in Metro Manila with 542, followed by Central Luzon with 225 and Central Visayas 211.

These firearms include 669 revolvers, 453 pistols, 60 replicas, 39 Class A, 38 explosives, 14 rifles, 10 shotguns, four Class B, and 325 others.

Meanwhile, 1,580 people have been arrested for violating the election gun ban.

The total arrested included 1,510 civilians, 30 security guards, 10 police officers, and six foreign nationals.

The nationwide gun ban took effect on January 12, and will continue until June 11, 2025.
