Khan Academy launches digital learning hub at Navotas public school

Khan Academy Philippines, in partnership with Data Lake and the Department of Education, has launched the Khan Academy Education Lab at the Tangos Elementary School in Navotas.

The project donated 45 high-performance Samsung tablets and a year of Starlink internet connectivity to the education lab in honor of Tatler Philippines editor-in-chief Anton San Diego.

Khan Academy Philippines CEO and President Atty. Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine led the handover
ceremony, joined by special guests Mayor John Reynald Tiangco, Assistant Secretaries Joyce
Andaya and Cilette Liboro, Director Graciela Mendoza, and SDO Navotas Superintendent Meliton
Zurbano.

Teachers, students, and local leaders witnessed the ribbon-cutting and live demonstration of
Khan Academy’s mastery-based learning platform—an edtech solution already transforming classrooms
around the world.

“This lab is more than a donation—it’s a living tribute,” said Acuña-Sunshine in her remarks.

“Anton has used the power of the media to uplift education and culture. Today, that impact is felt directly by Navoteño learners gaining access to quality tools that help them thrive in math, science, and critical thinking.”

Students and teachers will now benefit from a learning environment powered by reliable, fast internet and
globally recognized content.
