The Commission on Elections in the province of Cavite has currently suspended the canvassing of votes in its municipalities and cities. This is due to the delayed transmission of election results.

As of 8:38 pm, taken from the partial and unofficial results, GMA’s Eleksyon 2013 count showed that gubernatorial candidate Jonvic Remula of Lakas-Magdalo leads with 151,762 votes, in contrast to Liberal Party’s Ayong Maliksi with 133,935 votes.

Representing 22 percent of votes, the vice-gubernatorial candidate Jolo Revilla of Lakas-Magdalo posted 148, 561 votes. This places him ahead of the Liberal Party’s Jay Lacson with only 90,604, while independent candidate Recto Cantimbuhan posted lowest at 33,651 votes.

The Cavite provincial board of canvassers is set to reconvene at 8 a.m., Tuesday, GMA News' Mariz Umali said, reporting from Cavite.

Umali further explained that the suspension was due to a delayed transmission of votes from the municipal board of canvassers to the Comelec provincial count. – Rouchelle R. Dinglasan / KDM, GMA News
