NGCP: Power interruption expected in parts of Ilocos Norte Saturday

Parts of Ilocos Norte may experience a power outage from 6:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 1, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the outage will affect parts of the franchise area of Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Inc.

The NGCP said this will affect the following areas:

- Laoag City (north of the river)
- Vintar
- Sarrat
- Piddig
- Dingras
- Marcos
- Solsona
- Nueva Era
- Banna
- Carasi
- parts of Bacarra

The NGCP said this was due to the "reconfiguration (upgrade and change in physical arrangement) of 69kV feeders in connection with the on-going Laoag Substation Expansion Project."

"Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion. NGCP’s customers and  the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption," it said. - VVP, GMA News
