The Philippine Drug Enforcement Group seized more than P30 million worth of shabu from an abandoned house of detained Chinese drug suspect Yiye Chen in Angeles, Pampanga on Tuesday.
The PDEA Special Enforcement Service headed by Director Levi Ortiz found the illegal drugs following an ocular inspection at the house in Barangay Malabañas around 10:30 a.m.
During the inspection, PDEA agents tapped the ceiling of the house and to their surprise, white substance fell from it.
The K9 dogs then sat on the white substance, prompting the PDEA agents to dismantle the ceiling.
Some five kilos of shabu were recovered from the house.
“Mabuti nakuha ito kasi baka maibalik sa streets at maibenta pa, at least ngayon nasa custody (ng ng PDEA),” Ortiz said.
In August last year, PDEA agents arrested Chen and seized 36.58 kilograms of shabu worth P100 million following a raid in his house in Angeles City.
Aside from the illegal drugs, agents also seized a freezer, a duffle bag, strips of aluminum foil, a vacuum pump and weighing scales.
Chen is an alleged member of a transnational drug trafficking organization. —NB, GMA News
