CITF nabs Cebu cop for extorting P20k from suspect
Agents of the Philippine National Police Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) agents arrested a police officer in Cebu City for extorting money from a suspect.
Police Officer 3 Ritchie Camporedondo Saquilabon of the Cebu City Police Office Station 1 was arrested in an entrapment operation on Monday at around 5:45 p.m. at Sangcianko corner Junquera Street.
He was nabbed after being caught receiving marked money worth P20,000 from the complainant who was earlier arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The complainant was identified as Richie Labus, 32, and a resident of Banilad, Cebu City.
The entrapment operation stemmed from a telephone complaint, according to the CITF.
Saquilabon is now being processed for appropriate criminal and administrative cases at the CITF. —KG, GMA News
