Bataan, Pampanga area shellfish test positive for the red-tide toxin
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has prohibited the harvesting, sale, and consumption of shellfish sourced from Pampanga's coasts and from nine Bataan towns after the shellfish from these areas tested positive for the red-tide toxin.
According to GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend", the Bataan towns included in the ban were:
- Abucay,
- Balanga,
- Hermosa,
- Limay,
- Orani,
- Orion,
- Mariveles,
- Pilar, and
- Samal.
