Town in Oriental Mindoro remains free of COVID-19, mayor says

A town in Oriental Mindoro has remained untainted by the coronavirus disease 2019, its mayor said on Thursday.

At a Laging Handa press briefing, Mayor Jennifer Cruz said the local government of Pola immediately implemented a lockdown in the town in order to prevent the spread of the disease in the municipality.

She said there were six confirmed COVID-19 cases in the entire Oriental Mindoro.

At present, Cruz said there were only four entry and exit points in their town.

Besides, volunteers were also the ones taking care of buying the needs of the residents, the mayor added. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
