2 killed, kid wounded in Zamboanga del Sur shooting

Two were killed while a child was hurt in a shooting incident in Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur on Thursday morning.

Police identified the fatalities as fisherman Jose Canoy Cabatcha, 42, and his live-in partner Naima Bacalso Zulueta.

Zulueta's five-year-old son, Nadjar Bacalso Zulueta, was injured in the incident.

Based on the initial probe, the victims were inside their house at Purok Gumamela in Barangay Igat Island when two unidentified men barged in and shot the victims using a caliber .45 pistol and caliber .30, which were recovered at the crime scene.

Cabatcha was found lifeless while the elder Zulueta was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound on her right buttocks.

The kid is still at the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound on his left leg, police said.

The gunmen escaped using a motor boat going to Malangas in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Investigation is still ongoing on the incident.—AOL, GMA News
