MECQ sought for Tuguegarao City amid rise in COVID-19 cases

Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba recommended that Tuguegarao City be placed under the stricter modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

The city is currently under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Mamba proposed that MECQ be imposed for 30 days.

The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force has yet to act on the proposal.

As of Saturday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tuguegarao has reached 586.

Of this number, 107 are active, 471 recovered, and six died. —KG, GMA News
