Cops confiscate 2 blue-naped parrots allegedly being sold in Tawi-Tawi

Members of the Philippine National Police Maritime Special Operations Unit 1 recently confiscated two blue-naped parrots allegedly being sold by two minors in Tawi-Tawi, the PNP Maritime SOU 1 said Tuesday.

The cops acted on a tip given by a concerned citizen that the birds were being sold in Barangay Luuk in the municipality of Bongao.

The birds were confiscated since their sale is prohibited under Republic Act No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, the PNP Maritime SOU 1 said. —KG, GMA News
