Davao, Soccsksargen remain under critical risk for COVID-19 –DOH

Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Friday that the Davao and Soccksargen Regions remained under critical risk for COVID-19 this week.

“Ang Regions 11 at 12 ay nanatiling nasa critical risk,” Vergeire said at the Laging Handa public briefing.

(Regions 11 and 12 are still under critical risk.)

According to Vergeire, all regions in the Visayas and Mindanao were under high risk; Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa were under moderate risk; and the Bicol Region was at low risk.

Vergeire reminded residents in these areas to observe minimum public health standards against COVID-19.

The bed occupancy rate in the country declined from 52% on January 22 to 43%. The ICU utilization rate also decreased from 51% to 44%, according to Vergeire.

On Friday, the Department of Health reported 8,564 new COVID-19 infections bringing the national caseload to 3,594,002. Of the number, 151,389 are still cases. — DVM, GMA News
