Baybay survivor: Some resting, others doing rescue when 2nd landslide came

Some residents didn't expect landslides to happen in the barangays of Baybay City after tropical cyclone Agaton dumped heavy rains in the Visayas.

They were only watching out for the water level of a nearby river when they heard a rumbling sound.

"Sabi ng asawa ko, aalis na daw kami. Ayokong umalis kasi yung bunso namin nasa ilalim pa," landslide survivor Daina Fullente told Stand for Truth.

"Tapos  marami nang humingi ng tulong wala kaming magawa," she added.

Fullente indicated that she and her family fled the landslides twice.

She said they again had to again run while they were resting at a hut when they heard the sound that signaled another landslide.

"Kung hindi daw nag landslide ng pangalawa, marami pa talagang mabubuhay," Fullente said.

"Tapos may nakita silang tao doon na nagpahinga kasi pagod na pagod. Nagre-rescue na yung iba na akala kasi nila hindi na mag landslide ulit," she added. —NB, GMA News
