Man killed, wife injured as van rams tricycle in Laguna hit-and-run mishap

A man was killed while his wife suffered injuries after a speeding van hit their tricycle recently in Cabuyao, Laguna.

According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras", Ramiro and Claire Aceituna were reportedly on their way to buy fish in Calamba when the incident happened.

Ramiro died of his injuries due to the incident.

Claire said she tried to run after the van to see if it would stop. It did not. 

Police investigators traced the van to a certain Jose Lester Villanueva Penaranda who had been sent subpoenas but had yet to appear before the authorities.

The suspect has been since charged with homicide, physical injuries, damage to property, and abandonment of one's own victims. — Mel Matthew Doctor/NB, GMA News
