Fire hits workers' barracks in Cainta, Rizal

A fire hit the barracks of construction workers located near Marcos Highway in the town of Cainta, Rizal province early Friday morning, GMA News' James Agustin reported on "Unang Balita."

In the video footage taken by Kurt Balderas there was fire, thick smoke and an explosion can be heard in the area.

According to Sherwin, one of the construction workers, he was sleeping outside of the barracks when it caught fire.

He tried to douse the fire but it spread too fast.

The Bureau of Fire Protection reported that among the items found inside the barracks were paint and other construction materials.

The BFP is conducting an investigation to determine the cost and cause of damage..

No one was injured in the incident. -- BAP, GMA News
