PCG conducts search and rescue ops for 5 kids at Taal Lake

The Philippine Coast Guard is conducting a search and rescue operation for five children who went missing in the vicinity waters off Taal Lake on Tuesday.

Citing the initial information from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Balete, the PCG said that the five children from Barangay Sto. Toribio in Lipa City, Batangas went missing while swimming. The children's ages are 12, 10, 8, 8, and 7.

The PCG, along with the MDRRMO Balete and local officials are also conducting a surface search in the adjacent area.

The Coast Guard said it has also dispatched two divers from the PCG Special Operations Group-Southern Tagalog to conduct an underwater search. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
