5.2-magnitude quake shakes Davao Oriental

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Tarragona, Davao Oriental early Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The earthquake occurred at 4:16 a.m. off the shore of Tarragona town in Davao Oriental.

The quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 84 kilometers.

Intensity I was felt in Malungon town, Sarangani.

The PHIVOLCS also reported that the incident was an aftershock of the magnitude 5.5 earthquake that struck near Tarragona, Davao Oriental on the 20th of April 2022.

There are no damages, aftershocks expected. -- BAP, GMA News
