P2.5 million in suspected shabu seized in Pampanga –PNP

Authorities seized around P2.5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested two suspects in separate Pampanga buy-bust operations on May 16.

Police Regional Office 3 Director Police Brigadier General Matthew Bacay said the two arrested suspects were 30-year-old Juluis Guillermo Mariano and 53-year-old Jean Dantes Selibio.

Mariano was nabbed in Barangay Mawaque Maragul, Mabacalat City during a buy-bust conducted by the regional drug enforcement and special concern unit operatives.

Seized were 305 grams of suspected shabu in six sealed and two knot-tied sachets with an estimated street value of P2,074,000; an Android cellphone, a body bag, a P1,000 bill with 19 P1,000 boodle-money; and a weighing scale.

Meanwhile, Selibio was arrested by provincial drug enforcement and intelligence operatives during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dila-Dila in Sta. Rita.

Confiscated from him were three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 55 grams and worth P374,000; a keypad cellular phone; a pouch; a P1,000 bill; and a weighing scale.

Bacay said they were readying charges against the suspects for violations of Section 5 in relation to Sections 26 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — DVM, GMA News
