Ex-security guard brags about killing in Rizal, nabbed in Surigao Del Sur

A former security guard, who bragged about killing his co-worker on a construction site in Cainta, Rizal in 2015, was arrested in Surigao del Sur.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, Samson Aranez was nabbed by personnel of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group- Detections and Special Operations Division (CIDG-DSOD) in Tagbina town where he hid for seven years.

Police Colonel Jeremias Oyawon, chief of CIDG-DSOD, said the suspect was reported by a concerned citizen.

“Tuwing nalalasing siya yung mga words na bad words—patayin kita—yung mga ganon. So, eventually na-loose talk din siya na mayroon pala siyang ginawa. At the same time sa e-warrant na-confirm natin,” Oyawon said.

(Every time he gets drunk, he would say bad words like ‘I'll kill you.’ So, eventually he unconsciously said that he did something. At the same time in the e-warrant we confirmed this.)

Aranez admitted that he gunned down the victim but reiterated that what he did was part of his duty as a security guard.

“Sinita ko yun sir kasi linggo yun at nagiinuman sila. Eh ngayon, sabi ko pagbigyan ko kayo, maubos ang tatlong bote, tama na yun. Eh ngayon, umabot pa ng hanggang isang case. Bully pa nang bully sa akin ang bago-bago ko pa at tanda-tanda ko na raw, maano na daw ako. Kako ito ay aking trabaho lang,” he said.

(I reprimanded them because they were drinking on a Sunday. I said to them that I will allow them to drink only three bottles. In the end, they finished one case. They also bullied me, but I said this was part of my job.)

However, citing police investigation, Oyawon said Aranez suddenly shot the victim at the back of his head.

“Biglang dumating ang suspect, pagkatapos bigla na lang niyang binaril sa likod ng ulo ang biktima,” Oyawon added.
