PAF recovers crashed unmanned aerial vehicle in Bukidnon

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has recovered its Hermes 900 unmanned aerial vehicle (AUV) in Baungon, Bukidnon, after it crashed on Saturday.

According to GMA Regional TV Cagayan de Oro's Cyril Chaves' report on Unang Balita on Monday, the PAF recovered the AUV in a forested area still intact but with deformed wings.

east of Lumbia Airport, the PAF earlier said.

It took off from the airport at 9:30 a.m. for a functional check flight, then ascended to 10,000 feet as it proceeded east of Lumbia, it added.

Pilots found the functional check flight satisfactory and made the UAV descend 5,000 feet at 1.5 miles east of Lumbia Airport.

No casualties and damage to properties were reported due to the incident, according to PAF.

On Monday, PAF spokesperson Colonel Meynard Mariano said the rest of Hermes 900 UAVs have been grounded for the purpose of inspection and investigation. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
