The Department of Health (DOH) has inoculated adults and children against COVID-19 during the Special Vaccination Day in the Bangsamoro Region.

According to the DOH, those vaccinated received tokens and gift packs as part of the incentivization programs of BARMM.

“Through this kind of effort, we give the gift of safety and security to our loved ones — especially to our dear senior citizens, children, and those who are immunocompromised,” DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a statement released Thursday night.

“Let us all be in one spirit for the protection of the Filipino nation, so that we can finally live safe and comforting lives,” she added.

In a separate statement, the DOH said Vergeire also paid a courtesy call on BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim.

Vergeire also requested the help of the region for the PinasLakas campaign set to launch on July 26.

“We will need your support to provide vaccines to the different settings in the region- our schools, markets, offices, and the community,” she said.

Data from the DOH showed that 1,584,124 or 51.05% of the target population in BARMM have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of July 21.

Meanwhile, 163,308 or 5.26% of the target population have received boosters.

Nationwide, a total of 71,439,759 or 91.47% of the target population have been fully vaccinated, 15,797,385 or 20.23% have received their first booster shots, while 1,146,735 or 1.47% have received their second booster shots. — RSJ, GMA News
