Murder suspect arrested in Cotabato; 2 others nabbed for illegal firearms, drugs

A 61-year-old murder suspect and two others were arrested in Cotabato province's M’lang town on Monday, according to the Philippine National Police.

In a Tuesday statement, PNP officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Vicente Danao Jr. identified the murder suspect as Jimmy Demisingin Talimbo.

Also arrested in the operation, this time for illegal possession of firearms and drugs, were 34-year-old Mohar Sepi Talimbo and 41-year-old Nasdorin Ugpang Talimbo.

Seized during the operation were seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 12 grams with a value of P85,000; a Colt M16 rifle; a Bushmaster rifle; two long steel magazines containing live ammunition of caliber 5.56; and a suspected IED component.

Also confiscated were a caliber .45 pistol loaded with a magazine with seven live rounds; two fired cartridge cases of caliber 45; and one short plastic magazine of caliber 5.56 containing sixteen live rounds.

Jimmy and Mohar were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 12, while Nasrodin was brought to the M’lang Municipal Police Station. — DVM, GMA News
