1 killed, 7 missing in Cavite bridge collapse

One was killed while seven were missing when a suspended steel bridge collapsed in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, on Tuesday night, Mao dela Cruz reported on Dobol B TV on Wednesday.

Citing Dasmariñas City Administrator Ariel San Gabriel, the report said the incident happened around 8 p.m. on Tuesday and reported to authorities around 9:30 p.m.

Based on initial information, 13 people, most of them youngsters, were on the bridge when it collapsed. Five survived the incident.

Search operations for the seven missing persons were ongoing as of Wednesday morning. The area, located at Barangay Sampaloc, has been cordoned off.  —KBK, GMA News
