6 suspects in Maguindanao ambush identified, pursuit ops ongoing — PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said it has identified six suspects in the recent ambush incident in Ampatuan, Maguindanao which killed two cops and wounded two others.

“We already have the identity of the suspects and our personnel are working double time to bring justice to where it should be,” PNP chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said in a statement.

“We ask for the public to be vigilant in their surrounding and report any suspicious-looking men in their area,” he added.

The fatalities were identified as Ampatuan police chief Police Lieutenant Reynaldo Orcine Samson and Police Corporal Salipuden Talipasan Endab.

The wounded personnel were identified as Police Corporal Rogelio Dela Cuesta Jr. and Police Corporal Marc Clint Dayaday.

According to the police report, the victims on Tuesday were about to serve an arrest warrant against one Kamir Kambal alias Meds for robbery with violence when they were attacked by more or less 10 fully armed men in Barangay Kapinpilan.

“They were fulfilling their duties as law enforcers when confronted with such violent action. Their loyalty to their commitment to serve and protect the nation will be remembered,” Azurin said.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA News
