Son, wife of Ka Oris killed in Bukidnon encounter, military says

The alleged son and wife of slain rebel leader George "Ka Oris" Madlos were killed during an encounter in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon on Saturday, the military said Sunday.

In a statement, the Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) identified the fatalities as Vincent Isagani Madlos and  Angie Polandres Salinas.

The two reportedly died following an encounter with troops belonging to the 8th Infantry Battalion under the 403rd Infantry Brigade (IB) in Barangay Kapitan Bayong.

Colonel Ted Dumosmog, 4th IB officer-in-charge, said the two were members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) Central Committee.

He added that Madlos and Salinas were heads of the National Technical Bureau and the National Communications Bureau of the National Operations Command, respectively.

“Additionally, Madlos had multiple warrants of arrests for the crimes committed from different areas in Caraga and Northern Mindanao regions,” Dumosmog said.
