A tricycle driver was shot dead by two men abroad a motorcyce in Nasugbu, Batangas.

According to Andrew Bernardo’s report on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Southern Tagalog,” the victim Roderick Sierra was on his way to buy fish in Calatagan town early Sunday when the unidentified assailants opened fire at him.

Sierra was declared dead on the spot after he succumbed to gunshot wounds on his head and various parts of the body.

“Pattern ‘yung kaniyang galaw. Nasubaybayan siya kasi yung oras ng pag-alis, kung saan ‘yung way ng punta niya sa ganoong oras,” Nasugbu Police Station's Police Lieutenant Michelle Bastawang said.

(His movement has pattern.  They observed the time he leaves, where he goes at what time.)

Authorities said they have yet to establish the motive behind the crime after ruling out a possible robbery.

“Ang kaniyang belt bag, naiwan niya. Intact din ang kaniyang gamit — ang cellphone, singsing. ‘Yung isang malaking singsing nawala pero nakita rin naman sa bahay,” Bastawang said.

(The victim left his belt bag. His other belongings were also intact, including his phone, and ring. His wife said a huge ring went missing but they found  it in their house.)

The victim’s family appealed for  justice over Sierra’s death.

“Wala kayong karapatan na kunin ang buhay ng asawa ko. Hindi niya deserve ang ganitong pagkamatay,” Percy Sierra, the victim’s wife, said.

(They have no right to kill my husband. He doesn’t deserve this kind of death.)

“Hustisya para sa asawa ko. Hindi naman na maibabalik ang buhay. Hustisya (I just want justice for my husband),” she added.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA News
