BOC seizes vessel for alleged sugar smuggling
By GMA Integrated NewsThe Bureau of Customs on Sunday said its BOC-Port of Batangas office seized a marine vessel on Saturday for alleged sugar smuggling.
The vessel MV Sunward was found by BOC operatives carrying 4,000 metric tons of Thailand white refined sugar, the agency said

No notice of arrival was presented when the vessel arrived in the Philippine contiguous zone, the BOC added.
Likewise, there was no import permit for the sugar which were packed in 80,000 bags, the BOC said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
