200 new Lakas-CMD members in Davao Region take oath


Some 200 incumbent and former local officials in Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro on Friday took their oath as new members of Lakas-CMD party.

Speaker and party president Martin Romualdez administered the mass oath-taking held at the Tagum City Historical and Cultural Center in Davao del Norte.

“I’m glad that you are here with us and that you have joined the party,” Romualdez said. “You are in great company.”

A statement from Romualdez’s office said prior to the mass oath-taking, the prospective Lakas-CMD members had an orientation to inform them of their duties and responsibilities once they are formally included into the group.

The oath-taking of 200 new members also increased the party membership to 3,000 nationwide, according to Romualdez’s office.

Aside from Romualdez, also present during the mass oath-taking were former President and current Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Capiz governor Fredenil Castro, Davao Oriental Representative Nelson Dayanghirang, Davao del Norte Representative Aldi Dujali, Davao del Norte Vice Governor Carlo “Oyo” Uy, Davao de Oro Vice Governor Tyron Uy, Tagum Mayor Rey Uy, and Monkayo Mayor Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora, among others.

Lakas-CMD is chaired by Vice President Sara Duterte, who also attended the event. —Llanesca T. Panti/KBK, GMA Integrated News
