Ping Remulla takes oath as Cavite seventh district representative

Cavite seventh district representative Crispin Diego “Ping” Remulla, son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, took his oath as a member of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Remulla succeeded his father, who vacated the congressional seat, after taking the post of Justice secretary.

He defeated three other independent candidates

by garnering a total of 98,474 votes in Trece Martires City and the municipalities of Amadeo, Indang, and Tanza in a special congressional election for Cavite's seventh district on Saturday.

Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said the voter turnout for the special polls was at 42.11% after 149,581 votes out of 355,184 registered voters in Cavite’s seventh district were counted. —Richa Noriega/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
