Over 4,000 fisherfolk in Oriental Mindoro received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation following the oil spill that affected their livelihood.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, among the beneficiaries is Marciel Dimalibot, who has been fishing Bansud, Oriental Mindoro since she was 10 years old.

"Alas onse ng gabi po madaling araw hanggas alas singko ng madaling araw nagtatalapira na kami naghuhulog na kami ng lambat," she said.

With the sinking of the MT Princess Empress, she can no longer earn income from making fishing nets.

"Sobra po malaking kawalan po sa amin ito. Ngayon po iniisip namin kung saan kukunin ang kakainin," she said.

Another beneficiary is Apolinar Fontecilla, who has been fishing in Naujan for over 40 years.

"Hindi na kami makapaglaot dahil bawal nga po. Nakakaano ng damdamin," he said.
