Solon urges Albay cop killers to surrender

A Bicolano lawmaker on Friday urged the people behind the killing of Police Staff Sergeant Abel Sevilla in Barangay Homapon, Legazpi City to surrender to authorities.

“We call on the perpetrators of this heinous crime to surrender and face the consequences of their actions,” Ako Bicol Party List Representative Elizaldy Co said as he strongly condemned the recent ambush-slay.

“There is no place for violence in our society. We must work together to achieve a peaceful and secure environment for all," he added.

The lawmaker said he already made a formal request to Police Brigadier General Rudolph Dimas -- Bicol’s police chief -- and Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. for additional Special Action Forces to conduct patrols as he mentioned that insurgency in the area is on the rise.

According to reports, Sevilla was shot dead by unidentified men while he was on his way to his office on Wednesday morning. —LBG, GMA Integrated News
