Over 600 kilos of illegal drugs destroyed in Cavite

In a bid to prevent them from getting recycled back into the market, the authorities on Thursday destroyed over 600 kilos of illegal drugs which were seized in various operations across the country.

According to the "24 Oras"report of GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog's Denise Abante, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police used a thermal decomposer Trece Martires City, Cavite.

"Sinasabi ko sa amin, the soonest that we comply with all the requirement siyempre, pinaka-last niyan eh court order, kung ano nanyan, destroy na kaagad," PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo said.

According to the PDEA, the process will take about sixteen hours, and the PDEA will watch over the facility until the demolition is complete.

On Friday, the ashes will be collected and placed in a container that will be taken to the PDEA laboratory.

"Basta sa amin sa idea, the moment that we have seizures to destroy, go, basta kaya kasama po du'n sa ini-inspect namin 'yan and ini-scrutinize na importation permits mino-monitor natin 'yan," Lazo said. —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
